To bake cod, grease a cooking pan and preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix up some butter and seasoning with things such as lemon/lime juice, soy sauce, onion powder/onion salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, minced garlic. Whatever you like. To bake cod, preheat the oven for 450 degrees. Place the fish on a greased shallow baking pan. Tuck any thin edges under the fish so they do not burn. Brush with melted butter and season as you desire. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes per 1/2 inch thickness of fish. So for a 1 inch thick piece of fish you would bake for 8 to 12 minutes.
