To make a motion at a meeting, you should raise your hand respectfully and wait for the President to call on you. When she does, you should clearly state your motion (or request) and wait for a response.

According to protocol, this is the proper way to make a motion at a meeting. First you say, I move to do whatever it is you want to accomplish. Then you wait for someone to second your motion.
