There should be instructions that come along with the gown. If not, turn it inside out and iron it on the wrong on the lowest possible setting on the iron that will get the wrinkles out. If you need to turn up the iron, use a clean piece of cloth (such as a very clean dish towel or a pillow case) between the iron and the gown. Some synthetic fabrics will melt under the heat of an iron! Go slowly and test a hidden area inside the gown before you go further. Never iron on the right side, as this can make ugly shiny spots on fabrics.

It might be risky to iron a graduation gown. A better way of removing wrinkles might be to hang it and let the wrinkles fall out. Not all graduation gowns are made of fabrics that can withstand the heat of the iron, therefore you may end up with a melted gown or permanent creases or wrinkles.
