One way to measure board feet is to use the formula: thickness (inches) x width (inches) x length (feet)/ 12 = board feet. However, it's important to keep in mind that while there are formulas, they don't usually end up being exact because you have to take into account any waste, joints, discoloration or even splits in the wood that may not have been obvious when you started.
