In reading a resistor color code, you have to be very familiar with the value of color from 0 to 9. You must also very familiar of its place value.

In order to read resistor color codes, you will want to have a good magnifying glass, as the bands are very thin and it is important that you can distinquish between them. Use the standard color code schemes to determine the values for the beginning bands, as well as the multiplier and tolerance noted by the last 2 bands.
