Sewing stretch fabric requires three main things to insure you will have a secure seam. When sewing on a stretch fabric you must use the right thread type and size. The thread you use must have stretch capabilities as well. Another factor is making sure you have the correct number of stitches per inch ranging from 12 to 12 stitch per inch (spi). The last important factor is to insure you are sewing with the appropriate stitch balance or thread tension. You may have to test the tension by testing on a piece of the fabric.
